God has truly blessed this year of outdoor ministry within Truth in Nature. This past weekend we closed down our 2015 year as we look forward to the 2016 year of mentoring, engaging, and working with young men from single parent homes. This year God blessed our organization with a new Chapter based in Columbia, SC and led by Program Director Matt Hellman. He has blessed our Georgia Chapter with a partnership with Southeastern Trust for Parks and Land (STPAL) to use 110 acres for our programs here. A lot of young men have grown in their personal walk with our mentors and made huge personal decisions and changes in their life. Most of all 6 young men have made life changing decisions to follow and trust Christ as their Lord and Savior. We continue to give him all the Glory and know that He will continue to lead this organization as we move into the new year.
This past Friday night, our Georgia Chapter held its final program of the year with an overnight Bonfire held at ministry partner, Church of the Vine. It was a great time as we cooked out, built a bonfire, and had our devotional time led by mentor Roy Rogers in the glow of the fire. Saturday we held our banquet and luncheon at ministry partner West Ridge Church location. It was a great time as we had sponsors, partners, moms, boys, mentors, and other volunteers on hand to celebrate God’s Blessings in 2015. With a great lunch and celebration our Georgia Chapter closed down its year.
At our Louisiana Chapter, Saturday night was its annual End of Year Celebration. We hosted it at ministry partner Hebron Baptist Church in Bush, LA. With sponsors, partners, moms, boys, mentors, and volunteers attending it was a great way to celebrate what God is doing through this location and in the lives the young men we are working with there. They had their program which included recognition’s, presentations, and recapping the year. Afterwards they had a great dinner prepared by Mandy Rivers and her team.
God continues to bless His ministry and open doors for us to reach and engage more young men. Please continue to pray for these young men, our mentors, and vision as we now head into 2016.
