Saturday morning we woke up early for breakfast and hit the road heading to the woods. Soon after everyone getting settled, we began to get reports of squirrels being shot. We had three of the groups get some squirrels, with Blake Roy and Lucas Laborde getting their very first squirrel. It was a great morning in the woods spending time and building relationships with our small groups of mentors and boys. After the hunt we enjoyed an awesome lunch. It was hot dogs and chili prepared by Amie Wood, using the deer meat from Victor Pounds’ deer that he harvested at our November deer hunt. It was great! Following lunch, we were joined by Hebron Baptist Church’s Youth Pastor, Christopher Blanton, who brought a message from God’s word about “Finding our identity in Christ”. It really challenged us. We then finished off the day with a little bean bag toss before heading home. We pray that all walked away a little closer to God and that He was glorified through this program.
Continue to lift up these programs and young men as we hold these programs throughout the year. We pray that above all else He is glorified and these young men grow in their walk. You can check out all the pictures from the weekend by using the link below.
