Our South Carolina Chapter opened up it’s 2016 Programs for Boys from Single Parent Homes this past weekend with an overnight and skeet shoot program. It was a great way to get the boys and mentors back together after the break from last years programs. With a great group of boys and mentors they met at Awaken Church for the drop off and overnight. We kicked things off with a party sub sandwich dinner. After dinner we settled into a devotional given by one of our mentors, Kent. It was a great time spent in God’s Word with our men and boys. After the devotional we headed outdoors for a little competition. We played capture the flag and it was intense battle! We settled in to a camp fire before hitting the bed for the night.
On Saturday morning we woke up and grabbed some breakfast and cleaned up before heading out to the skeet shooting grounds. Soon after we arrived at the skeet shooting grounds it was time to let some clays fly. Mentor Kent taught the boys some gun safety before each one stepped up in the station. One by one each boy took their turn and shots at the clays. After some warm up the boys really began shooting great and coming into their own! Even the mentors took to the stations to try their hands at the clays. We wrapped up the day with some great lunch grilled by our mentors. We thank mentors Kent, Brent, and Ben for being a part of this program with our boys.
Please continue to pray for our young men and mentors that God will continue to draw us all closer to Him through these programs. To see all the pictures please visit the link below.
