This past weekend our South Carolina Chapter led by Program Director Matt Hellman enjoyed a great day only program of River Tubing.  It was a great way to beat the heat of summer and enjoy a nice lazy float down the river.  Joining Program Director Matt Hellman was mentor Rick Hall and boys Niko and Daniel.  The group met up at the Columbia Truth in Nature Camp Facility Saturday morning.  After grabbing some breakfast and heading out they were soon arriving at the Saluda River for a float downstream.  This year they had changed the route and the boys and mentors were in for a treat as what once was a 1.5 hour float was now a 3 hour float.  They enjoyed every minute of the float from the lazy sections of the river where the boys jumped off the tubes and swan to the semi swift rapids where they got to shoot downstream.  It was a lot of fun and definitely cool way to enjoy a hot summer day.  During the float the mentors got to speak with the boys about life, how things were going, and Program Director Matt Helllman shared with the boys the importance being consistent and going above and beyond what is asked of them while respecting their mothers.  After the float the mentors and boys headed back home for some lunch and to meet the moms for pickup.  They were all exhausted but it was a great day.

This is just another example of our programs in the greater Columbia area where young men from single parent homes engage with mentors to keep a consistent male role model in their life.  We ask that you keep our South Carolina and other locations in your prayers for God to continue to use these programs to draw the mentors and boys together while growing closer in their walk with Christ.  You can view all the pictures using the below link.
