To be a participant in Truth in Nature, boys must be from a single parent home. Boys must be between 11 and 18 years old and have completed grade 5. Boys may continue to participate until graduation from high school or until their 18th birthday if not in high school. Our programs will be based around an outdoor, non-team sport, activity. Some examples include, but are not limited to, camping, hiking, hunting, archery, fishing, river tubing, horseback riding, lake retreats, canoeing, etc. During each outdoor activity there is a structured devotional time, prayer time, or a similar type of spiritual learning time. This structured time can include, but is not limited to, program director devotionals, prayer time, camp fire Bible studies, community leader, or other guest speakers. The focus will be on sharing God’s word for spiritual guidance. Structured devotional time with a group will be initiated and directed at the program director’s discretion. All spiritual teaching and leading must agree with the Christian Bible and align with Truth in Nature’s statement of faith.

All mentors will be personally vetted by the chapter Program Director and the Director of Ministry Engagement & Assessment through our application process. They must also pass a national criminal background check and complete Ministry Safe Training before being approved to mentor.
